Designed by Hopkins & Huddleston and built for civic leader and philanthropist Morris Wolfson, this estate is one of San Marco's most distinctive historic homes. It sits on a half-acre corner at Laurel Road and Marco Place. The original character is remarkably intact: a sweeping barrel-tile roofline, polychrome tile and cast stone window surrounds, and a Moorish-inspired entry. Inside, a grand foyer and winding staircase open to formal living and dining rooms, a wood-paneled study and a light-filled sunroom. There are five bedrooms in roughly 5,400 square feet and an elevator if needed. Bring your vision. The home is ready for renovation, and the oversized lot has room to create a private resort setting with a pool, gardens and a new garage. Restored, it becomes a legacy residence, moments from San Marco Square and the St. Johns River.
